Capítulo 5 - Una semana típica

The name of this chapter is: "A typical week." It's important to understand the vocabulary on dates, days of the week, months of the year in "El Calendario" PowerPoint in Edmodo. Please download it in your computers for reference. You must also know ALL the vocab on the PDF "VocabChapter5&More" in Edmodo. You will have a test at the beginning of the Fourth Quarter, on April 16. Make sure you understand all these concepts.

In this chapter, you will also learn the "Direct Object Pronouns" (los pronombres de complement directo), page 194. Read and understand the "Estructura" on this page. I will explain these in class and we will do many exercises to try to understand how to use these pronouns in sentences. So we will learn a new song, notice the differences. First songme te se - nos os se (Reflexive Pronouns); Second songme te le - nos os les (Indirect Object Pronouns); Third songme te lo la - nos os los las (Direct Object Pronouns).

Please check the links under "Fave Links" to review/study the DOPs (Direct Object Pronouns 1 & 2 - you don't need to watch Direct Object Pronouns 3). We use the Indirect Object Pronouns when using the "Verbo Gustar," and to answer the question "to whom? or "for whom" the action of the verb is performed. Examples: Le doy el libro (to whom? to him - I give him the book); les compro una mochila nueva (to whom? to them - I buy them a new backpack). We use the Direct Object Pronouns to answer the questions "what?" or "whom?" with regard to what the subject of the sentence is doing. Examples: María compra un libro - María lo compra; José lee una revista - José la lee.

"INDIRECT & DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS"
