On Friday, October 12 you will have a test on Capítulo 1 and what we covered in class to date. Please review the whole chapter, especially common greetings and farewells. Know several ways of greeting and saying good-bye to people. Review the Diálogos I y II (Libro - pgs. 4, 10, 20 y 26). You can listen to these Diálogos from "Lecciones A y B" in the іAventura! Internet Resource Center.
You must also know the numbers 1 - 30 really well, how to pronounce them and how to spell them.
The test will also include "Verbos Ser y Estar." You should have already memorized these verbs and have no problem finding the correct conjugation. Review the personal pronouns: yo, tú, él, ella, usted, nosotros, vosotros, ellos, ellas, ustedes. Check pages 23 and 24 of your Workbook (which was homework), this will be helpful (this is part of Chapter 2 but we covered this in class and assignments).
You should also know how to tell time in Spanish (which is different than in English in many ways). Review your homework and the hand-outs Mrs. Feld gave you on how to tell time. Also your notes from the videos shown in class and the pages with "relojes" we used in class Wednesday, October 10. Remember: el reloj means the clock, los relojes - the clocks. Reloj is a masculine word.
Review the vocabulary on pages 17, 31 and 37. I won't ask you about the Spanish-speaking countries and their capitals on this test; but you must know how to spell the names of these countries properly.
On Thursday, October 11, we will go to the Windows Lab (for Language Lab day). You can complete your Computer Assignments that day. If you need the instructions, please check the previous blog entry. I must get these assignments by Friday, October 12.
Libro página 30: Check the site for the "Grupo Musical La Ola" (Musical Group Ola - "ola" means wave in Spanish) and listen to the members of the band introducing themselves. Listen to the introductions carefully and write what you hear first without looking at the text on page 30 (libro) - you must be able to listen and write these introductions. If you need help with the names, then you can check the page (30). Answer the question ¿Qué recuerdas? on pg. 30, No. 23. Good practice! You can check their music here: Música. You may also want to check other Webpages on their site.
