Language Lab Assignments (y más...)

Computer Assignments:

Please go to the іAventura! Internet Resource Center and click on the "Textbook Audio Program." You must be able to scroll down, if you cannot, just enlarge the viewing window by placing the cursor on the right side between windows (you can ask Señora Feld if you have any questions).

You should listen to the following:

  1. Page 18 - Vocabulario I (check page 18 -libro- while you are listening to this mp3/audio), you must know how to write these expressions, saludos y despedidas (from the callouts on page 18). Advice: write them down and translate them.
  2. Also, p. 19 - Activity I (write everything you hear on your notebooks and also whether it's a "saludo" or a "despedida" or both). Note that they give you the answer, so stop the audio after every expression, think! Is it a saludo, a despedida or both?
  3. Page 20 - Diálogo I (this is the dialog on p. 20 - you must be able to write it, pronounce it and know the translation). I suggest you write it down!
  4. Page 20 - Activity 6 (try to answer these saludos y despedidas). Stop the audio to respond, then continue.
  5. Page 24 - Vocabulario II (listen, repeat - repite - write these greetings and expressions down on your notebooks). These are the expressions on the callouts from that page. You must know what they mean (translate them). You have new vocabulary:
    1. Lo  siento
    2. Con permiso
    3. Con mucho gusto
    4. Perdón
    5. Muchas gracias
    6. ¿Qué hora es?
    7. Es la una
    8. De nada
    9. I will collect this Vocabulario II and the translations. Write the callouts from page 24, and translate. (The vocabulary above is included in these callouts).
  6. Página 25 - Números 21 - 100. Listen to these numbers, learn to pronounce them properly! You can also review the Numbers' website on "Favorite Links."
  7. Página 25 - Escribe los números que oyes - write the numbers you hear only. You will give a copy of this exercise to Mrs. Feld. If you need loose leaf (lined paper), please ask your teacher (la profesora de Español).
  8. If you have time, you can continue with Página  26 (Activity 14, Dialogo II, Activities 15 - 17).
  9. When you write these VocabulariosDiálogos and Activities in your notebooks, make sure you enter titles (indicate the Textbook Chapter and the page number).
"Listening Activities"

You can also go to the Listening Activities of the іAventura! Internet Resource Center and listen to the following mp3's:
  1. Chapter 1 B - Activity 1 (Saludos y Despedidas). Try to write the whole text. Example: No. 1 - Buenas tardes Raúl (saludo). Hand-in to Mrs. Feld.
  2. Chapter 1 B - Activity 2 (¿Qué tal?). Listen and decide whether each person is doing "well," "so-so" or "not well." Modelo: Hola Helena, ¿cómo estás? Yo estoy regular (so-so). You just write "so-so in this case. I need seven answers. Hand-in to Mrs. Feld.
  3. Chapter 1 B - Activity 3 (Saludos Informales y Formales). Listen. You will hear four short exchanges, pay close attention to the use of pronouns, then write the letter of the most probable relationship of the speakers. Only write F - Formal or I - Informal.
  4. Chapter 1 B - Activity 6 (La Hora). Great to practice how to tell time in Spanish! Listen to what time it is and draw hands on the clocks to indicate the correct time. Example: Son las dos menos diez. I want you to write (spell) the time and then draw the hands on the clocks. Hand-in to Mrs. Feld.
Your homework is to continue listening to these Vocabularios, Diálogos and Activities from the "Textbook Audio Program" and the Activities from the "Listening Activities." I will collect these assignments next Friday, October 12, 2012. You will also have a test this coming Friday, as indicated in the previous blog entry (on Chapter 1). If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask Mrs. Feld. I always stay half-hour to one hour after school, so you can see me then (Windows Lab). You can listen to these mp3's after school too, or in the morning.

Great site: http://www.spanishspanish.com/time/clock_web.html to practice how to tell time in Spanish. Enter the time you wish to see at the bottom and press START.
